Producktivity Principle #1: Identify…Strategy- Collect Data

Making an informed decision begins with collecting data just as solving a puzzle begins with having all of the pieces. -Emily Tevault, Chief Producktivity Officer

Identifying your ducks (ideas, tasks, roles) gives you the foundation to make an informed decision. There are different ways to gather information and the use of a variety of methods such ascollecting data, brainstorming, and researching helps you identify all of your possibilities.

When faced with making a decision, you may have an idea of what you need to do based on your prior experiences. Even if you are sure of your decision, take time to collect data to support your position. Data can be collected using qualitative and quantitative methods, and you need to obtain both to view your options from every angle. Data collection methods include surveys, observations, focus groups, interviews, literature reviews, and comparative organizational reports.
